KANUMA HARD QUALITY 2/5 mm (7.5 Kg - 17 lt) , FOR ACIDOPHILE BONSAI.

Kanuma is the fundamental component to create the right substrate for any type of bonsai that needs an acid substrate, such as Azaleas and Camellias.

Akadama, clay of volcanic origin, is collected at a depth of 3 meters from the subsoil of Cryptomerie forests in Japan, while Kanuma is collected at a greater depth.

Kanuma is collected and dried, heated to remove organisms and parasites and pulverized in different sizes.

Kanuma can be mixed with pumice, volcanic lapillus, zeolite and perlite to make the substrate richer in nutrients and more similar to the natural characteristics in which the plants live, or it can be used pure as the only component of the soil.

FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND FIELDS OF USE

Light natural inert material, ideal for:

? provide the right balance of water, air and nutrients;

? retain water for a long time without drenching the roots, it holds much more water than Akadama. When the color turns yellowish-reddish again, it's time to water again;

? contains huge quantities of minerals thanks to its volcanic origin.

Further precautions for a correct formula for soil:

? drainage must vary from species to species; therefore it is important to also take into account the environmental situation in which our bonsai lives; the ideal soil should be aerated in the right way, so as to circulate oxygen and retain enough water to satisfy the water need of the plant between one watering and the other. the plants live in symbiosis with mycorrhiza. It is therefore useful to spread a veil of original earth in direct contact with the lower part of the roots;

? use all components of the soil well dry and leave to rest for a few days in the sun by removing parts of plants, seeds, larvae or insects.
